Ready to spice up your Cinco De Mayo plans? It’s our mission to help you discover the best spots for mouthwatering Mexican cuisine, margaritas, and beyond. With hidden gems sprinkled throughout the city, we think you’ll find the perfect spot for all the festivities.
Normally closed on Sundays, Coyote Flaco will be open and ready to take on Cinco De Mayo this upcoming weekend! They will have a t-shirt giveaway and will sling $6 Espolon Blanco and Hornitos Blanco shots all day. Come for the specialty margaritas and sangria, and stay for the irresistibly delicious food.
Why We Love Coyote Flaco: The ambiance is cozy and festive, and the margs are HUGE.
One of our favorite spots to grab drinks in downtown Hartford, Agave, is always a party on Cinco De Mayo! On Sunday, you can enjoy irresistible drink specials, and two live DJs, and be entered to win a Casamigos cooler or a $100 gift card. Do you love their food but want to hang at home? Pre-order one of their taco or fajita dinner box kits or margarita quarts and take the fiesta home!
Why We Love Agave: Agave is always a party on Cinco De Mayo; you can’t beat its energy.
Whether it’s Cinco de Mayo or any other day of the year, we love Hartford for its rich and diverse culinary offerings. For those looking for authentic Mexican cuisine, many delicious options can be found throughout the city.
We asked, and you answered! Thanks to some feedback from our followers on Instagram, we’ve included your go-to spots for Mexican food and split them up by neighborhood. Don’t see your fave here? DM us on Instagram (@experiencehartford) and we’ll update this guide with any we’ve missed.
Why we love El Bajio: The food and the ambiance are true and authentic, you can’t beat the flavors here. Don’t miss out on trying one of their many quesadillas!
Why we love Monte Alban: Everything is fresh and scratch-made and is a perfect family dining spot. This is our go to in the West End.
Why we love El Nopal: Great service, welcoming atmosphere and delicious birria tacos. Plus, we love their breakfast options!
Why we love Orale Guey Mexican Kitchen: The tacos are not to be missed but our favorite menu item might be the tamales. Awesome staff too!
Why we love El Sarape: Huge selection of breakfast items (can never go wrong with the Huevos Rancheros!).
Already busy on Cinco De Mayo? The party never stops! Make it a bucket list goal to visit all of these awesome spots and be sure to tag us (@experiencehartford) so we can follow along on your journey.
Honorable Mention: We asked, and you answered! While these two spots aren’t technically in Hartford, we wanted to give them a shout-out anyway. For even more delicious Mexican food and drinks, visit Frida in Elmwood and Taqueria La Grande on Park Road in West Hartford.
