Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, and the City of Hartford is brimming with love! Whether you’re looking for a gift for that special someone or a night out with your galentines, we’ve got you covered.
With Valentine’s Day happening on a Monday night, lots of events are taking place this weekend!
Parkville Market has a weekend packed with activities, including a Comedy Date Night in the Hall on Saturday the 12th (you can get tickets here), and a Galentine’s Day brunch event inside The Local from 11:00am–2:00pm on Sunday the 13th (you can make reservations here).
Red Rock Tavern is hosting a Valentine’s Day-themed Paint & Sip night on Saturday the 12th (tickets are available here). Grab your gal pals or your significant other to spend the evening sipping on your favorite drinks and munching on your favorite bites from Red Rock.
The Hartford Yard Goats are offering a series of “Rent a Suite for Your Sweetheart” dinners on February 12th and 14th. It includes a dinner for two and a delivery of a rose by Chompers. To make a reservation, you can email events@yardgoatsbaseball.com.
For those who aren’t into the warm and fuzzies that come with Valentine’s Day, the Hartford Wolf Pack has you covered. They’re at the XL Center for a double header weekend, taking on the Springfield Thunderbirds Friday, and the Rochester Americans Saturday (tickets for both games can be found here).
Valentine’s Day would not be complete without those sugary treats we look forward to each year. If your lover loves donuts, Tastease Mini Donut on New Park Avenue is a must visit. If cookies are more your style, The Kitchen Hartford is offering cookie decorating kits that are perfect for an at-home date night or something the whole family can enjoy. Bloom Bake Shop is offering a full Valentine’s Day menu, featuring cookie platters, tortes, cakes, and scones. And, as we mentioned in our South End Guide, Mozzicato DePasquale and Modern Pastry Shop are walking distance from one another on Franklin Ave—grab your date, and put each shop’s cannolis to the test.
It’s easy to find Valentine’s Day classics in our little city. Hartford Prints! has the whole holiday covered, from cards, to candy, to bath bombs and baking kits and candles. If you’re searching for flowers, look no further than DeVars Phillips Florist on Sisson Avenue in the West End, or House of Flora on New Britain Avenue in the South West. Both businesses are family-owned and operated, and have been in business since as early as 1974.
Hartford’s restaurants are pulling out the stops for Valentine’s Day. Here are some of our favorites that are offering specialty menus:
